Galbraith Tree Farm Wins 2019 Great Outdoors Award

 

JLC appreciates the many voices with interests tied to the future of our forestlands, and we are committed to engaging with all stakeholders toward win-win outcomes. One example of our commitment is the unprecedented conservation agreement involving one of the forests we manage, Galbraith Tree Farm, the City of Bellingham, Whatcom Land Trust, and Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition. The agreement provides permanent public recreational access and watershed protections within the 2,240-acre working tree farm.

In recognition of this success, Recreation Northwest will be honoring the primary stakeholders involved with Galbraith Agreement at its 2019 Great Outdoors Awards on October 12th, 2019:
